What a gorgeous weekend. Friday we had a party at work, I was drafted to bring my mac n cheese--it's what I always bring now cause so many of them love it and can't seem to make it. Course I can't give you a good recipe cause I don't measure when I make it. Yesterday Jim cut down the roses for winter, mowed the yard, edged the sidewalks, I shopped, made an apple cobbler, hung the Halloween flag. Today was more edging, washed the car, cut a few branches on the one tree in the yard, baked peanut butter bars with chocolate chips melted on top. Thinking about apple turnovers....

Not too much else happening here. Even the neighborhood is quite. Saw an obituary in the paper yesterday--one of the elementary kindergarten teachers died, I know one of my brothers had her,I had the other one. Mrs. Eckman was 88 years old. I thought she was old when I was in elementary school and that was some 40 years ago. Her husband and only son pre-deceased her. People all over the village are remembering her, I'm sure.

Went to the library yesterday also. They are expanding ours and at the moment are in a temporary location. They will close early November and not open till about the first week in December so am stocking up on reading material. Took out 6 books, read one already so will return that and get another 5 or 6. These have to last the month. Depending on what else is going on I can read a book in a day or 2.

Well gonna enjoy some more sunshine and the open windows.

Hi Karen,
Oh the trees must be beautiful or have they already peaked? Ours are just about as brilliantly red and orange as possible - and flying around like crazy.
I can't wait to retire Karen, and be able to cook and bake as often as I'd like to. Mac and cheese - homemade - is wonderful. It takes time and effort but is sooo worth it.
I read your earlier post that Jim winterized the trailer. That kind of puts a whole new face on things. doesn't it? Those trailers always look so cold and sad out there in their spots next to the garage, don't they?
Blessings to you and Jim. And of course, hugs.
Sue

Can I come stay with you for a few days? Your posts always make me hungry. I love to cook and try new recipes and do alot but it is always nice to get to try those things when someone else has cooked it too.
