Fall is here, the furnace is on and it's a rainy day. I've been to the library already this morning. Have to stock up since they are closing next weekend for about 6 weeks. They are moving into their new space--it's the old library that Mr Crandall (way before my time) donated to the city and a HUGE addition. I now have 12 books lined up and will stop at least one more time and get a few more just to make sure I have enough to keep me occupied for those 6 weeks. Since I have quit smoking I had to find something to do on my breaks at work so I read a few pages. It's a tough battle but I'm trying to fight it.
Not sure what else I'll do this weekend, I'm sure I'll bake just haven't decided what yet. Guess I'll get back into the cookbooks and see what sounds good. Jim made chili on Wednesday--it tasted so good, a great fall/winter meal. I'm thinking Beef Tourenado one night too, (cut up round steak, mushrooms, peppers, etc over egg noodles or rice) and the crock pot will get a work out now too. I have mac n cheese in the freezer and some beef stew.
Christmas shopping--it's almost done. One because I'm broke and 2 because I really have been stocking up, buying things throughout the year when I see them. I emptied the closet I keep the gifts in and made a list and was pleasantly surprised. Just my mother in law, brother in law and the kids to finish. Not sure what to get them so that's why they aren't done. My mother in law needs a tea kettle so I bought one, but what else to get her????? Probably a gift certificate to a book store or the little restuarant she likes to go to for dinner. Rob and Kristine are a bit harder, not sure but something will pop up at me like it did last year. Then it's just the stocking stuffers for the kids, Shannon, and Jim.
I have a new book I bought that my former minister wrote but am not ready to start that yet. It's about faith in the 21st centuary. How to correlate the Bible into your world. He's a wonderful man and I have always loved listening to his sermons, he's retired now but always makes time when there is a need.
ENJOY your weekend everyone. I may stop back tomorrow but we'll see what I get into.
HUGS to all.
