What a great weekend for a change, it did rain yesterday, but for a very short time. It's gorgeous out today and such a change from our weekend weather lately.
Since I am no longer a part of another forum, I have free time to do other things. Military Moms still takes at least an hour of my time every day. But that's out of love and concern. So my cookbook collection is getting a workout. I'm finding recipes to try that aren't costing me a lot at the grocery store or take a lot of time for during the week when I'm working. I'd rather not work and cook but since my budget says I have to work, I try to make cooking simple but flavorful except when I have the day to devote to something more complicated.
So what are you all doing? Summer is winding down. School starts here again is about 2 weeks, but some of you have already sent your kids to school. I would like to think we are going to get camping one more time this year but realistically we probably won't.
My prayers are with all our military and their families.

hi Karen,
Good to see you again! Here in WNY we have had two beautiful days in a row. Scott took Veronica to the fair today - they were supposed to go last week but it rained. She was so excited today.
We are getting ready for a huge garage sale, Ron is also painting and fixing up the house getting it ready for a realtor to look at soon we hope, and I am still goin' to work every day. You know the feeling. And we are getting ready for Kasey by mid October.
Trying not to think about the sand coming up in the very near future.
That will get here soon enough.
Glad you have a little more time to cook for Jim...enjoy the experience. I have to wait a few more months for that.
Hugs and love to you my friend.
Sue
The weather here has been wonderful. We could actually use a little rain but the temps have been unusually mild. I have actually been able to wear jeans and Dean has been wearing jeans and even a jacket in the mornings on the way to school. He started kindergarten last week. WOW!
I have been canning food to enjoy this winter and we have been working on building the deck for the pool.
I love reading about your new recipes and your cookbooks.
