August is here...summer is winding down. I want to know where it went, some of this comes from not going anywheres this summer. We took our trips in the spring this year and spent all our vacation money doing that. Can't even squeak a few out of the budget as I normally would cause gas and groceries and everything has gone up so much. On the other hand, I'm getting things done around the house. My computer room is clean, the desk is visible, not just something holding all those stacks of paper up. I still have to get to the photo albums and loose pictures, but for the most part I'm organized again. (don't look at the dust though on the tables in the living room, I hate dusting) I'll get to the dusting and washing curtains in September when I can wash windows cause the air conditioners are out of the windows.

I've also been working on the military moms website, cleaning up the member list, actually answering the emails I get, and sent the owner a list of things he needs to fix. Military Moms, I'm not one anymore, but somehow can't bring myself to give it up. The moms there need people who care about them, they need someone, lots of someones, who can guide them through the roller coaster ride they are on and didn't sign up for. So I and others take care of the site for the owner, we make things work and keep it going for the moms who need it.

Last Tuesday night Jim and I went to the little park here in town. They give free concerts every Tuesday night with local bands. Last week was a country band, this week is a blues band. It was fun---everyone brings their lawn chairs or a blanket. We saw people we don't see very often, it was great visiting with all of them. A small cooler with sodas and lawn chairs and we were all set. They sell food there but we ate before we went. There are also craft people there selling their wares. We were looking for something cheap to do to get out of the house and thought why not....Glad we went.

Have a great weekend everyone and as always--My prayers are with our troops.
