Still on the cooking theme...last night I went to a home party. It was a "Taste of Home Entertaining" party. They have some very nice things, but a little expensive for my budget. I'm willing to pay for good quality kitchen things but I pretty much have what I need, though I did buy a mandolin. It's one of those things I've wanted but never think to pick up when I'm in a kitchen store. They have beautiful entertaining dishware, but I own a lot--mine though came from Princess House and it's mostly crystal and glass so goes with anything and when I don't have something I borrow from my sister cause she has the Pampered Chef stuff, so I mix and match.
I own lots of Kitchen Aid--knives, cookware, mixer, small food processor, blender. I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for",when it comes to kitchen items, at the same time I don't like paying for a name. This is one name I will pay for cause it stands the test of time.
Paula's Toffee Gooey Butter cake--ohhhh myyyyyy...so moist and delicious. The neighbor who had the party last night happened to make Pineapple Gooey Butter Cake and that was so moist and delicious also. Think I'm gonna try the peanut butter one next.
Tonight's dinner--Goulash, I usually only make it in the winter but Jim asked for it and it makes great re-heated lunches for us this week. Not sure what else I'll try this week--maybe clean out the freezer of the meals that are there so I can start again.
Happy Cooking....

hi Karen,
Sorry I've been awol...went out of town this past weekend. Ahhh, kitchen ware. I am in the process of cleaning house of all extra things...my good china and silver went to Laurie, pots and pans I don't need will be Scott's as soon as he gets his apartment, lots of furniture will go to him as well.
I have a few pampered chef things but like my old standbys as well. I'm thinking the boss will be rather strict on what I can keep when we sell the house. You can only fit so much in an RV. :)
Hugs and love to you and Jim.

wondering how the goulash turned out? sounds great. would love to have your recipe for that. I have a few odd and end things from pampered chef but love the things I have gotten from my mom and grandma so much I tend to use those more often.
