Fall is here and winter is not far behind...20's at night and rainy and raw during the day, at least the sun is out today even if it is cold.  Comfort food this week, corn and potato chowder, a new casserole I saw on Sandra Lee's Semi homemade show, maple pork chops and rice, and not sure what else.

House is almost done, still have some more work on my computer room but that's mainly filing and I hate filing.

Christmas is next....have to figure out what I'm getting and how to pay for it.  Rob is asking for the usual--socks, underwear, and long johns.  Has a couple other items but wants the staples.  Shannon well she hasn't really said yet but I'm sure Nana will find something.......I have a couple rewards certificates so may go to Hallmark and see what they have for cards.  Love my Hallmark Gold Crown card--it's great getting those certificates in the mail and then I usually have enough to get at least some of my birthday cards each month.  I bought Shannon's ornament already but need to find one for Rob and then of course my friend Julie's grandchildren.  In another week or so I will start making my chocolate covered cream fills for gifts also.

Have a great weekend everyone.  My prayers are with all my military friends and their families.

Karen,
You never cease to amaze me with your energy. I know what you mean about Christmas budgets...I always say I will cut back but then I look at our bank statements after a shopping trip (we don't have charge cards, just our debit card and if we have to wait for something, we wait til one of us gets a ss check or my pension). Bet your homemade Christmas gifts will be yummy! It's also nice that you remember Julie's grandkids - I'm sure she is smiling down and thanking God for you.
Take good care of yourself, don't work too hard and enjoy getting ready for Thanksgiving and Jesus' birthday.
Hugs to you and Jim,
Sue
