HAPPY VETERANS DAY

Tomorrow is Veteran's Day.  I'm Thankful for all who have served and are serving.  Their sacrifice is overwhelming when you think about it.  They leave families and friends behind, go to another country to fight a war.  They write blank checks with their lives....some have to cash them in, thankfully others come home.  They move frequently to places most of us would never vacation at....babies are born, children take many firsts, graduations, marriages, all parts of life go on while they are away serving and keeping this country and our freedoms intact.
My son was just 20 when he left for Iraq, celebrated his 21st birthday over there.  My brother Tim served in the Navy during Desert Storm, my brother in law John also served and is medically retired.  My father in law was in Korea, my husband, father, and cousin Andy all served during peace time. My nephew Matt is over there now. I have many relatives on my dads side that served all the way back into the Revolutionary War.  Tim and John were Navy, most of the rest were Army, though we have an Air Force cousin or 2 in the mix.

Thank you all for your service.  From the bottom of my heart I Thank all the families that support these HERO's and keep the home fires burning while they serve.

Thank a Vet today and everyday.

Karen,
Thank you for a wonderful post - and thank you to Rob and Jim and all your family members who have served as well. It's not always easy to love someone who is a veteran or who are active military. Well, wait. It's easy to love THEM but not always easy to travel the path it requires us to follow.
I know how much you love this nation's military. And for that reason, we have been kindred spirits for a long, long time.
God bless your veterans, Karen. Our country is blessed because of their service.
Hugs,
Sue
