Another busy weekend, that's what fall is for, then I can hibernate for the winter. Camper is all set, have a bag of linens that need to go out there now that they are washed but other than that it's all set for it's winter nap. Living room has been cleaned and rearranged--ready for winter and the Christmas tree. Our room and Shannon's have also been done. The kitchen is mostly done but need to get into a couple more cupboards and rearrange. Next weekend is the dining room and my computer room while Jim does the basement. He's washed all the windows and curtains for me, moved furnuiture....nice that he helps without too many comments.
Posted pics of the fall weekends on my facebook page and added a couple here. We had so much fun this year. The last weekend was the best, warm days, cool crisp nights, fires, and we did a clam and lobster fest on Sunday night. Had to end the season in style since most of us didn't make it to Maine this year.
Planning for next year -- thinking Mystic, CT area for a week. The aquarium, Old Mystic Village, Groton is nearby with the Navy submarines that you can go into, lighthouse at Stonington...so much to do and see. We are also going to do the fall weekend package again. It's a great time and not having to move the camper for 6 weekends is a plus. Not sure about the rest of the summer but we will figure it out. (And Sue you are always welcome to join us, bring Ron and Kasey with you, they have cabins you can rent too)
The holidays are getting closer, started shopping. Have a couple things- not much yet but the hospital book sale is this week and I always find neat things for Shannon there. Sometimes even a little something for Jim or Rob.
It's rainy and damp here, typical fall day. Yesterday was gorgeous even if it was cool. I have beef and noodles simmering on the stove, love the smell of comfort food. My mom's recipe and I just love it, great on a cold night and so easy. Made cinnamon rolls for breakfast this week and have the cinnamon tart warmer going so my house smells like fall.
Have a great week everyone. Know my prayers are with you all and especially those kids over in the sand boxes.

Karen,
Awesome post. Sounds like you and Jim are settling in for one of your Adirondack winters. Stay warm and safe...awesome that you have started your shopping - and believe it or not, I have begun as well. A couple of things for Scott and Violet - Laurie, Kasey, and Veronica will be a cinch. Stephen will be tough and Ron is nearly impossible. But if I can get a good start, then I can get them wrapped too. Of course then there are Christmas cards...
Enjoy all your preparations, Karen and your planning for next year. Thanks for the invitation, too!
Hugs to you and Jim,
Sue
