I'm enjoying my new job. It's been very interesting. My new manager is wonderful and we get along so well.
We brought the camper home on Monday--the last of the camping for the season. Boo Hoo.......It really needs a good cleaning, the clothes are washed, the fridge is empty but I still need to mop the floor, vacuum the carpets and straighten out the cupboards. It was so much fun doing the weekends this fall, think we are going to do the same thing next year. On Sunday night to celebrate the last night we bought clams, lobsters, and shrimp. Oh how we ate......course we always eat big---breakfast is a big deal pancakes, or waffles, or fried bread dough and sausage, bacon, eggs. Then we snack all day and have great dinners. Spaghetti, beef stew, steaks, crockpot nights, etc. What fun we had every weekend. Celebrated a couple birthdays, great fires, played washers and corn hole, touch football, whiffle ball, etc. Now to plan for next year--where to go and when.
The first weekend in October I went to fund raiser for a family friend. Mike has been a friend of my "baby" brother since they were little boys. He lost his job last year because the company went out of business, then his wife lost hers, she found a new one. Their son got ill and ended up in the hospital while they had no insurance, then Mike finally got a job this spring and shortly after starting it got bit by a spider at home stacking wood. He had a bad reaction, 6 or so surgeries later and 2 months in the hospital......on the verge of losing their home and everything. He's doing better now but still needs therapy and more surgery. The place he now works for put this together--raffled off TV, Ipad, paintings, coolers, 30 something different baskets, many with lots of gift certificates in them,...it was amazing. I won 2 cords of split and delivered firewood. The guys were all excited--we now have firewood for camping for a couple summers. They raised a LOT of money, not quite enough to get them totally out of trouble but enough to keep them from losing the house and cars. It really was overwhelming to see the turnout and the donations.
On a sad note, I had 2 friends who had children leave for the sand boxes again. Both guys have been there more than once. My nephew is still there should be home in a couple months. My prayers remain with all our soldiers and their families.
Now for fall stuff--windows, curtains need washing, applesauce needs making.......
ENJOY everyone.

Karen,
You and Jim - you give so much. Your compassion is such a gift - I pray you are blessed in return and that Mike will be out of the
woods-physically and financially-
very, very soon.
Thanks for your prayers for our military - for soldiers deployed. It means so much. And this I know you understand from having walked in the shoes.
Hugs my friend,
Sue
