We're home. We got home Saturday evening and I want to go back already. We had so much fun even though the last few days I didn't do much as I caught Jim's cold and it settled in my chest. We had a great time though. If you have never been that far north in Maine, let me tell you it's worth the trip. So much to see and do. WE went into Acadia National Park a couple of times and did the "Park Loop Road" which takes you to Otter Cliffs (though no otters the day we stopped), Thunder Hole--if you hit this just right with the tides the incoming waves sound like thunder when they hit the rock formation, Sand Beach--it's about the only sandy beach there is on the island. Shannon had a great time there, getting wet, having the waves catch her feet, even though the water temp was about 45 degrees!! We drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain. What a view. You can see the town of Bar Harbor from there, there was cruise ship in the harbor also that day. Back Beach was my mom's favorite beach as it is good for shell hunting, and finding sand dollars. The kids and Jim had a great time there. I sat on a bench and watched as I didn't want to take a chance of falling on the rocks. My cousin called me on Saturday to tell us Maine was opening up lighthouses to the public for the first time ever, so we drove to Bass Harbor Lighthouse and waited in line for about an hour. It was worth the wait. What a great time seeing the view from the top of the lighthouse. The first 2pics are from inside the top of the lighthouse. Jim and I did a little geocaching one day and then took Kristine and Shannon out to show them, Shannon loved the finding of treasures (she got some new crayons in one cache). The week ended all too soon. It was chilly at night there but the days were mostly sunny and breezy. We had rain 1 day from about 4 am to 8 am and then again 1 afternoon for about 20 minutes. So the weather cooperated. You should see the stars up there--billions of them. Rob and Kristine went out Friday night to Sand Beach where ranger was putting on a show about the night sky. They showed you where the constellations were, you could see the Milky Way, saw a shooting star, and more. Even at night by the campfire with no other lights around (no street lights or city lights) you could see billions of stars, it was so neat.
Back to reality now, the camper is emptied, wash is almost caught up. Now I have to clean the camper and winterize it. Also physical therapy starts back up today. Time to catch up on everyone else's blogs too.

She is such a little doll...looks just like her Dad...sounds like you had a wonderful trip. Plus you got to see some Lighthouses :)
Karen,
Shannon looks adorable and Rob looks fantastic. How happy you must have been to be with all of them.
Hope your knee continues to feel well, and that you are back to normal routines now, Make sure you don't overdo. (do you KNOW how many times I have heard that lately from family and friends regarding my arm)?
Wonderful post - terrific pics.
Hugs to you and Jim.
Sue
