HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON. Our little angel is 3 today. I can hardly believe it. She's getting so big. I'll include a couple of pics from her party at her other grandma's house

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. We did. Finally got to use our camper again. We left on Thursday for Alpine Lake with friends and neighbors and had a great time. We talked Pat and Gail into staying with us as they normally go back and forth from home because of the dogs and they don't want to put anyone out. It was so much nicer having them stay. Between the 5 families there we had 5 dogs and 10 kids. Flies were a problem from the time we got there, so fly strips went up and they presented their own problems---Kept running into them and boy are they sticky. They funniest though was Cheyenne ( 16yr old), they had been up for 3 days hanging off the ends of everyone awnings and she ran into one, it stuck to her forehead and as she bent her head back and was screaming it just followed her face down and stuck from her forehead to her chin, across her open mouth. We were hysterical. Then that same night she was in a chair by the fire and had her feet in her lap and had been leaning forward but decided to sit back, well she was on the edge of the hill and over backwards she went--wasn't hurt but all we saw was feet and the legs of the chair. We had lakefront sites so the kids were going through fish bait like crazy. They did pretty good, I have pictures but haven't taken them off the camera will get them on here later. Eat, oh my, did we. We had Belgian waffles, blueberry pancakes with Gail's homemade blueberry sauce, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage. Lunch was pretty much on your own, then dinners--beef stew, soaked chicken, burgers, hot dogs, chili, baked beans, potato salads, shrimp salad, corn, corn bread, etc. A little cool at night but the days were great, no rain and sunny. We even made reservations for Memorial Day, good thing, they were already booked up and we couldn't get lakefront again, but at least we got sites together.
We got home yesterday and had one last fire and BBQ with Pat and Gail, Patrick, Teri, Jenna and Nick. By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATRICK.

Now I have to get ready to leave for Maine on Friday. Jim has the wash almost done just need to clean up the camper and repack clothes and some groceries.

Oh my...I'm still laughing about the fly strip and then the falling in the chair. Funniest thing I've ever heard...especially for a 16 year old.

The last time we went camping flies were also a problem and I thought I was real smart. I bought one of those $5 fly bags. DON'T EVER DO THAT. It does get the flies but the smell will drive you out. We ended up throwing it in the dumpster and just dealing with the flies.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHANNON!
