We have been in Maine since Friday. It was a long drive having to stop every couple hours so I could get out and stretch my legs, took us just over 12 hours to make an 8 1/2 trip. We also made 1 detour to York Beach for Goldenrod Taffy. Can't come to Maine and not get taffy there. Saturday we were deciding what to do when my cousin called and said Maine was opening up all the lighthouses for the public, something they have never done before. We left for Bass Harbor Lighthouse, closest one, and waited in line for about an hour and then got to climb up into the lighthouse, what a view. The Coast Guardsman that lives there gave the tour and a little history, also answered any questions. He was wonderful. We have been to a few favorite places already--Sand Beach, Back Beach and Thunderhole, top of Cadillac Mountain. I will go into more detail when I get home and can add pictures. The wi-fi here is slow and won't upload Jim's pictures. I did upload a couple from Kristine's camera as hers are lower resolution on my facebook page. It's been cool at night but sunny for the most part during the day. We are having a great time with the kids here with us. Shannon loves to go "exploring" every day. We have found sand dollars on Back Beach, some shells and other assorted sea creatures at Sand Beach. Saturday is gonna come too soon..........

Hi Karen (and Jim),
Hope you are having a great time and that your leg is getting better every day. Hug those kids for me and get some great pictures, ok?
We will be on the road tomorrow on our way back to WNY for a visit.
Be blessed and have a great vacation.
Hugs my friend,
Suelaurie

Karen,

Sounds like you are having a great time. I am sooo ready to go camping again. We haven't been in a month probably.

Duck hunting season is approaching so we'll be going again every weekend.

Take care of yourself. Don't do too much!

Betsy
