Happy Birthday Julie

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULIE
9-11 means a day of many feelings and memories. For me it's Julie's birthday, she would have been 53 years old. I miss her terribly and she's only been gone 3 years. She now has a beautiful granddaughter, Reagan and Ryan her grandson is getting so big--he turns 4 in another few days. This is the last picture I took of Julie, the fall before she died at her daughter's wedding. I also included a dragonfly as they were her thing.

We leave for Maine on 9-11 so I'm posting tonight as we want to get an early start and I won't be able to get on here and do the post. We are so excited, we get to spend a week with Rob, Kristine and Shannon in our favorite place. It's going to be so much fun.

My knee is coming along fine. I can bend it about 90 degrees now on my own and about 97 if the therapist is pushing it. Only 30 more degrees to go. They want to get it to 120 if they can--my other knee goes to 118 so if I can get to that I'll be happy. I still have some swelling which holds up some of the flexion but doing well. The incision has healed and doc pulled the steri strips off today that they put on after the staples came out. Now I get to do scar massage therapy to loosen up the scar tissue that builds up and will also hold up my bending. Saw my boss today, she wanted to know (she has bad knees also but runs marathons) what the new knee is made of--it's titanium. Both my knees are now made of that. The new one of course is slightly better than the last one--they keep improving them. I just love the fact I have NO MORE PAIN!!!!! I can walk and climb stairs and they don't hurt.

Have a great week everyone and I'll see you when I get back.

Happy Birthday Julie. Karen talks about you all the time.

Karen, I'll be thinking of you tomorrow on Julie's birthday. I know you were a great friend, and still are.

So glad to hear about the knee. With titanium knees, why aren't YOU running marathons? Have fun on your trip. You've been through a lot and the trip will be wonderful.

Keep us posted.
