We had a great day yesterday, didn't miss the camping. Spent it across the street with neighbors. We had a fire, great food--steaks,chicken, salads, baked beans, salt potatoes, corn on the cob, my peach upside down cake with ice cream and of course cocktails. Lots of great conversation and good friends. Great relaxation. Now I have to get moving and grocery shop and then bake something for Jim for breakfast this week--muffins may be or a coffee cake. Talked to Rob, making plans for a week in September when he is on vacation. He wants to go to Maine, Acadia National Park, not sure if we will make it that far north but even Wells would be nice. I'm not sure I can sit in the truck that long as it's an 8 hour drive from here and I'll only be 4 weeks post op from my total knee surgery. We'll see though. I love Acadia and would be able to see my cousin that lives on the island there.
I missed my uncle the other day, I was working when they came through. He's not really my uncle, his daughter and my mom grew up together and they were all honorary aunts and uncles to us. Well Hank is over 90 and comes from Alabama to Ogdensburg,NY every summer, this year Pat(his daughter and mom's friend) drove him. What a great man he is--still very active. He usually stops here on his way to visit for an hour or so before hitting the road again. Bop has great stories, he's all about the kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. I love him dearly.
Have a safe week everyone.

Glad to hear you had such a nice 4th of July. We went to my parents for dinner. It was supposed to be for a cookout, fishing and fireworks but it rained from 10 am until about 1 am this morning so we at on the enclosed patio and watched it rain until about 10 then decided it wasnt going to stop so we came home. Going to try to have our 4th of July next Friday if the weather cooperates.
Karen,
It sounds like you have great neighbors - and fun times. That's great! I miss our good friends who lived next door to us in Hamburg - although we still talk to each other all the time on the phone now that we are RVing. Hope you get to make that trip to Maine with Rob, Kris and Shannon.
Hugs to you and Jim.
Sue
