Christmas is coming.......we put the tree up this weekend, it's always FUN but I have enough ornaments to decorate about 3, maybe 4 trees. I could all Hallmark, or all Thomas Kincaid, or all crystal, or all of everything else, plus a Rob tree with all his ornaments. We got the tree up and Jim decided to change the lights and garland, we've always had all blue lights and gold garland--this year we are multi colored lights with silver garland. I don't do tinsel but I have lots of crystal icicles that shimmer in the lights. I used some Hallmark, some crystal and some of everything else. Quite a few ornaments are from my dad's house that my brother was going to throw away because he doesn't have a tree, my sister and I salvaged them and split them up. What great memories hanging them....my mom's musical notes, her sailboat, her counted cross stitch ones, etc.
The presents are wrapped and under the tree, much to the dismay of the cats. They love to sleep on my tree skirt. We have to leave them a path to the back of the tree and a spot open for them to lay down. If we don't they move the presents around and end up ripping some open.
At least they leave the ornaments alone.
I'm back to putting the non breakables down low .. Shannon will be here for a couple days at Christmas, I haven't had a little one in years. It made me remember though when her daddy was her age. I had one of those BIG playpens they used to have, and the tree was inside it one year to keep Rob from trying to climb it and from opening the presents.
Saturday night we took a drive to Albany to see the "Capital Lights in the Park". It's a beautiful display of Christmas lights throughout Washington Park. Takes them a couple weeks to put them all up. One night soon my mother in law and I will take off after dinner and check out the lights on the homes around here.
Stocking stuffers are my last item besides cooking and baking. Good thing I have a couple more weekends.....

And how did you get so darned organized so soon. I have so much to do...I've never been this behind before - well not since the kids were still home. Hmmmmm. Scott is living at home now and there is a 3 year old running around here every weekend. I wonder....? But I LOVE it! :)
God bless you and Jim.
Hugs.
