After almost 5 years we will finally be in our master bedroom. The carpet was laid last night, the painting is done, curtains are on the windows and we move the furniture back in today. I can hardly believe it. No more sleeping in one room and having dressers in another. The kids will have a bedroom to sleep in now and come spring Shannon will have her own room for when she comes to visit.
I'm on vacation no till after Christmas. Too much to do still. The tree is up, presents are wrapped and some of the baking is done but I need to do more. It snowed again last night, only a few inches but we will have a WHITE CHRISTMAS.
I'll need the time to sort through everything that's been piles in the middle bedroom for years--haven't been able to get to most of it since it got put there. Clothes to go through--good as time as any, don't put them in the new closet if they don't fit. All kinds of things to wonder "why did I keep this?"
I'm getting excited also because the kids will be here in 2 days. I can hardly wait to see Shannon, the wonder of Christmas in a child's eyes...there's nothing like it. Her new word is "UH OH" whenever she does something she shouldn't.
Yesterday was our work holiday party. We do a cookie swap and Secret Santa (both voluntary) and food....oh my...talk about calories, nothing was on my diet, but oh was it good. There was mac n cheese, ziti, meatballs, sweet and sour kielbasa, salads, brownies, cookies, fudge, peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate, spinach dip and bread, warm cheesy artichoke dip, deviled eggs, mini hot dogs in BBQ sauce. My secret Santa knows I love lighthouses and bought me a beautiful lighthouse night light of Boston Light. It's going in Shannon's room cause I have a nice one Rob bought me a few years ago in the dining room and Jim's eagle one is in the living room.
Back to work, the new bedroom is calling me to finish it.
