Babies Babies and more Babies......our friends Tom and Julie became grandparents for the first time on July 4th.  Alan Thomas weighed in at just over 5 lbs.  He had a little trouble but seems to be doing well now.  Then on Thursday my friend Barb and her hubby Tom became grandparents for the 5th time.  And one of the girls at work became an aunt for the 2nd time.  And now it's official to all we will be grandparents again in December.  Rob and Lauren have now told her parents so I can shout it from the rooftops.

We went camping July 4th weekend and had a great time.  8 families, lots of great food, conversation and campfires.  Dave though got bit by something, we think a spider and he developed a cellulitis on his left ankle so by Monday we were able to convince him to go the ER.  He was given IV antibiotics for 3 days and is much better.

Jim's sister Jody arrives on Wednesday for 2 weeks and I pick Shannon up on Thursday for a week.  We leave for camping on Friday for 5 days.  Grocery shopped today and have to finish packing the camper but I'm pretty much all set.

On a sadder note, my MIL's dementia is getting worse.  She can no longer drive (THANK GOD) because the doc wrote a letter to DMV and they have suspended her license until he rescinds the letter.  She's mad of course, though not nearly as upset as she is about having the checkbook taken away from her and us paying her bills.  Last night she got mad at John and locked him out of the house.  Jim had to break in.  She throws temper tantrums like a 2 yr old.  It's so sad to watch her decline and not be able to do anything about it.  I suspect it won't be long and she will be placed somewhere.

My prayers are with all our service men and women and their families.  Enjoy your time together.
