It's snowing again...supposed to change to sleet and freezing rain later, glad I don't have to work tomorrow. I'll be here baking. Yesterday I did creme de menthe brownies and sausage, sage, cream cheese crescents for my Christmas party last night. I'll get back to that. Today I have 2 batches of my grammie's cream filled candies done, at least 1 more to go. Have spider cookies, Viennese rounds and not sure what else I'll make this year, also have to do my regular fudge brownies for Friday nights party.
Last night we had the Short Term Care Infusion Center party. All of us brought at least 1 thing. WOW what food--my appetizers, 3 different cheeses, vegetable tray, crackers, spring rolls, then for dinner we had fettucine alfredo, prime rib, roasted potatoes, 3 different salads, more vegetables and for dessert, all kinds of cookies, the brownies, cheesecake, gingerbread bars, cannoli's, a pineapple walnut cake, and not sure what else....What a great time we had--meeting spouses, just enjoyable.
Friday night we were across the street for a birthday party. That was fun too. This Friday night we are doing Chili night with the families we camp with. Chili, cornbread casserole, venison stir fry, brownies and whatever else. We bought candy jars and filled them for the kids with tags that say "From the Camping Santa's" except for Cheyenne who is getting a jar with a T shirt in it--T shirt says "WHATEVER" on the front as it's her favorite saying. Can't wait to get together with everyone again. Then next Saturday night is Jim's Christmas party with the Sheriff's Department.
My shopping is done except for a couple stocking stuffers and ornaments for Rob and Kristine--haven't found them yet. Last Sunday all the girls is the scheduling department met and road tripped down to The Christmas Tree store, then we lunched at The Cheesecake Factory. We had a lot of fun. Bought Shannon more things that she really doesn't need, but oh wells--they were good deals.
Have to do up some tins with cookies and candies in them for few folks. Well back to dipping the cream fills in chocolate.....
Have a GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON everyone.
