Betty is settled into Westmount Nursing Home, she is not happy to say the least. Will probably be even more unhappy when we have a meeting in 2 weeks. They will transition her into the nursing home from the rehab bed she is currently in, there are also other decisions to be made at that time. It's so sad but I keep telling myself she really did most of this to herself -- if she had remained active after retiring instead of closing herself in her house and doing nothing except reading and smoking she wouldn't be there yet.
On a better note we went out yesterday and celebrated Pat's birthday(our neighbor and camping buddy). We stopped at Christmas Tree shop and found an ice cream maker for kids--so bought it for Shannon for Christmas. She loved ice cream. Now to finish my shopping.
On a sad note our military moms have lost a member. Esta better known as Sarge passed away from a battle with cancer. I met Esta about 10 or 12 years ago and while our personalities didn't mesh well, I pray for her family and know she's in a better place now, out of pain and suffering.
The storm of the century for the east coast....OMG. we are about 3 hours from the city and most of us have friends or relatives that live in the NYC/NJ area that were hardest hit. So because of that there are a lot of drives going on here. Some organized some by individuals. Collecting all necessities, bedding, clothing, cleaning supplies, etc. One of my facebook friends is driving to NJ with things she is collecting at her home, that's just one example of what's happening here. With another storm coming in a couple days they need all the help they can get. I just can't imagine how they are going to survive all this.
Time to get moving -- have some things to accomplish in this day off. Prayers to all affected by the storm and of course our military.
