It's a year to be thankful--for friends, family and all.
A co-worker had an aneurysm burst about 3 months ago now, I've known Rose for years as we both have over 20 years in at the hospital. She has made a remarkable recovery so far. After being in ICU at the Medical Center 50 miles away, she was transferred to a step down unit then to a rehab facility near by. She is now home, still having physical, occupational and speech therapy. She wrote on facebook the other day.....she's still gets very tired easily and her memory is slowing coming back but wow how THANKFUL we are that she is recovering as well as she is. Her family says that her faith and all our prayers are what brought Rose through this and I believe!!!
My mother in law is now in a skilled facility, it's so sad to see her deteriorate this way. We won't bring her home for dinner tomorrow as she isn't adjusting well yet. They have changed some of her medications around and she is better but at today's meeting it was suggested we wait to take her out for a trip anyplace. Give her more time to adjust.
I'm baking today -- pumpkin pecan bars with bourbon whipped cream, John is bring a cheesecake, and I have a chocolate cream pie. So just the 3 of us for dinner tomorrow. What a difference from a few years ago when I had more than 20 here.
I'm almost done shopping, just a couple small things and NO nothing more for the grands.....I have more than enough for them. I've even wrapped most everything also. So this weekend we can begin to decorate. Monday we went to MIL's home and she had a Precious Moments Christmas village which we gave to Gail our neighbor, she collects Precious Moments and knew she would appreciate and love the village. I have the one my mom made in ceramics over 35 years ago so didn't need the one Betty had. Jody her only daughter didn't want it either so it's now in a loving home. I can't wait to see it all set up.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all
