Summer is over. The camper is home, almost cleaned for winter storage. I just need to vacuum and Jim needs to winterize the pipes, which he will do tomorrow as they are predicting 20 degree temps here. We are so sad, we got a lot of camping in this summer with the timeshare. We made some new friends and had lots of fun with Gail and Pat who are our neighbors and bought in also. We figure that at the average price of $60.00/night we have now paid for our membership in 1 season, that's how much camping we got in. The maintenance fees are paid for 3 years and if I can get 4 more people to sign up they will be paid forever. Commuting back and forth to work was fine, slightly longer by about 10 minutes even though it's a 25 mile difference. Highways instead of 7 red lights in a 2 mile span.
Now for the house--I've let it go over the summer. Needs a good cleaning. Windows need washing, rooms need picking up and sorting through. All that fall stuff only this year it's magnified as we weren't home much this summer. The cats though are very glad to have us home.
Had a surprise trip from Shannon the weekend of my birthday. That was fun. Gail and Pat took us out to dinner and we had a great time.
My only issue now is Olive, her mom won't let her come here without parents. I can't seem to talk Lauren into coming out and she won't let me take Olive, says she is too young to be away from her. I feel bad that she isn't going to know us and have the relationship we have with Shannon. Rob has tried to talk to Lauren but they end up fighting so told him let me do it, he doesn't need the aggravation. I spoke with a lawyer but really don't want to go that route as I know it will be a real problem for Rob. The lawyer said I will win as they aren't married and as grandparents we are entitled to visitation. So we wait and see if Lauren will let go or at least agree to bring the baby here.
Happy Fall everyone,
Karen

Karen,
I remember those days of cleaning out the things of summer from the trailer. Some things we left in, but not a lot. It is kind of sad, but it helps the winter go by to have the anticipation of the first spring time adventure. We are still trying to sell the fifth wheel and every time we go over to check on it, there's a tug on my heart. Regarding Lauren/Olive, I'll pray for the situation...as you said, you don't want things to be difficult for Rob and Lauren, but still, you have your rights. Hoping that Lauren will change her mind soon.
Be blessed my friend~thoughts and prayers for you and Jim to have a safe and happy winter.
