Well Shannon is back home.  On Saturday we went to Boston, spent the afternoon at the Aquarium with Rob and Lauren (his new friend) and Shannon.   We had a great time.  Went to Quincy Market after and had a late lunch, early dinner and then left for home.  I love my granddaughter with all my heart but after a week, I needed to go back to work to rest up.  She's a whirling dervish when she's awake.  Constant motion and lots of questions.  A lot like her daddy when he was that age.  We rode bikes, learned how to hula hoop, did bubbles (6 big bottles of them), played dress up, swings, slides, colored, jumped all over papa and me, played with Sammy, dollhouse, etc.  On Wednesday we went to lunch at Dinosaur BBQ with the neighbors and their 2 grandkids, then on Thursday we met Aunt Kelly for lunch and ice cream, then that evening went to see Imagination Movers at the Civic Center.  That was a lot of fun.  It was very quiet here yesterday but it felt good to sit and do nothing.  My legs are sore from all the walking on Saturday.   It was great to see Shannon interact with Lauren.  They love each other and I'm glad.  Rob was doing Easter with them yesterday as Kristine has Shannon next weekend.  She was excited--the Easter bunny was coming twice for her.
Nick and Jenna from across the street were wonderful last week, they played with her quite a bit even though they are both older.  Shannon thinks they are the greatest--she hangs all over Nick (10 yrs) whenever she is with him and Jenna (7 yrs) is patient and plays dress up with her.
Back to reality.....just wanted to share the picture.

I've loved reading your posts. It sounds like you had a blast but I sure know what you mean when it's all over. It takes me 3 days minimum to recuperate after I've had my grandkids.

I guess that just means when we have them we are focused on them 100%. That's a good thing!

Karen,

What a wonderful post. Shannon is getting so big and it's such a nice picture of all of you. I can identify with the "wear me out" thing...but I sure do envy Shannon, Kasey, Ronnie Sue, and ALL the kids for their energy.
Sure sounds like you had plenty of that yourself, Karen. I think you did a great job keeping up.
Love and hugs,
Sue
