It's been an interesting couple of weeks here. Work is well.....stressful lately. I actually went in and talked to the department manager. I was questioning myself about whether this was a good fit for me or not. I know I can do the job but sometimes it's just well....more than I want to handle. She reassured me that I was the person to do this....they had been grooming me for it. So I'm still there and guess I feel better but that little nagging feeling is still there.
My mother in law--what a handful. The boys have taken her check book away from her. She refuses to admit her mind is going. I know how hard that must be for her but at some point she has to accept help from all of us or she will be in a nursing home and not at home where she wants to be. Long story and details I don't need to share with the world but I've straightened out her account and caught up all the bills. She thinks I'm taking her money and regardless of how many times I tell her I can't access her account, someone else has to sign the checks she doesn't remember that. She hasn't driven in months though she thinks she can--she can barely walk -- looks like a drunk, weaving and having to hold onto furniture or she falls. DMV has sent her a letter that she needs to fill out and have the doctor sign--probably going to take her license--which is safest for all. The house is a disaster, we hired someone to clean, she doesn't like that idea either. If pushed will admit she can't scrub the floors or tub anymore. I hate to see her fail like this. She was such a vibrant woman until she retired directly to her barca lounger. Since both my parents are gone, she's the only one we have left. We'll do what we can until it gets to be too much then it will be out of our hands.
On a good note....Shannon will be here next week. We are going to see Imagination Movers at the Civic Center next Thursday. I can't wait to see her. She's all the stress relief I need.
Have a good week everyone.
