On a sad note my ex mother in law passed away last week.  I and many others never expected her husband to out live her.  He is currently in a rehab hospital and has been there since fall due to a stroke and then falling and breaking a hip.  He's not well and hasn't been for quite a few years so I'm sure it won't be long before he joins his wife.

I had lunch last Saturday with 4 high school classmates.  We had fun catching up, our kids are all grown and we have grandchildren.  Passing around pictures, sharing stories, remembering some of the good times we had.  4 of us live in this state within 30 miles of each other and we still don't seem to get time together unless Patti is here from N.C.  Life happens and it's sad.

Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and now COLD.  It's only about 2 above and supposed to get to 15 below zero tonight.  HIBERNATION is called for.  We have had all of the above weather for 2 weeks now.  Getting storms every 3 or 4 days.  Tired of it.  Need to pay the house off so we can go where it's warmer for the winter.  About 4 more years -- can I wait that long????  It's my light at the end of the tunnel, pay the house, truck and car off all within 6 months of each other -- then I don't have to work full time anymore, unless of course the economy tanks again.

Rob and Shannon had a great vacation in Oregon.  They had fun visiting friends, seeing the sights and going to VOO DOO Donuts.  I want to go just to go to the donut shop.  They have some weird donuts there.  Like Bubble Gum, chocolate donuts with coco puffs cereal on top, etc.
Shannon's next trip is to Disney in Florida with her great grandparents.  Kristine's grandparents are taking her in February.  That should be a good time for all.

Reading my friends blogs--many have children who are deployed or will soon be.  Sometimes I hate this war.  Taking so many, separating families........but I am so PROUD of those who choose to serve.  My heart goes out to each and every one of them.

Chili tonight with Texas Toast........nice hot dinner on a cold night.  Have to figure out what we are eating for the rest of the week.

HUGS to all and know my prayers are with each and every one of you.

Karen,
I'm sorry to hear that your ex- mil passed away. Was your nephew able to get home?
Your weather sounds just too darn cold, Karen. I know that Buffalo had the same during the past week and we don't miss it at all. Go figure we would have so little snow or cold temps in Colorado. Just not what you'd expect. Ummm, not that I am asking for it, you understand. :)
Shannon will have a blast in FL. Wishing them a great trip - she's at the age now where she will remember things like that for a long time.
Stay warm and safe.
Hugs to you and Jim,
Sue
