What a wonderful weekend we had.  Camping with friends and neighbors and the visitors that came to enjoy a cocktail or 2 and the campfire.  Jenna and her friend Aiden are little diva's--glad I'm not their moms when they get to be teenagers (they are 6 and 7 right now).  So cute but some of the stuff they come out with--keep us laughing.  We hadn't been to this campground before, not great set up for the kids--playground and pool way up front and of course our sites were in the back but quiet and large sites.  Lots of seasonals, but half of them  weren't around.  The batteries in my camera went dead as I tried to snap some pics so you won't be seeing any.

On Sunday when we got home, I paid for the fall special we booked.  Fairly close to home, about 25 miles north of here--every weekend from Labor Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend at a discounted rate.  You get to leave your camper there, deal is that you can only camp on the weekends though.  But not having to move it for 6 weekends is a plus.  We have great sites there, same ones we had last Columbus Day weekend--playground directly in front of us with a huge field for playing ball or whatever.  Only drawback is I just found out Maine is opening up 20 of their lighthouses again this year to the  public on September 18th only.  Last year we just happened to be there for that and my cousin called me and told me so we climbed up inside the Bass Harbor Light--what fun and the view was amazing.  We may have to day trip it to one of the closer ones....LOL.  I have a fear of heights and Bass Harbor was great because it's a short lighthouse but coming down that circular metal stairway was a little tough, course I was only about 6 weeks post op from my total knee replacement too.  Have to find another fairly short one to do.  Would love to go inside Portland Head Light but not sure I could make it up that one.

Have a great week everyone.  Betsy, my friend, know my prayers go with Shane.  And as always my prayers are with all our military and their families.

Karen, your camping sounds like so much fun. Gary and I are needing to get out and camp some but we haven't been able to the last couple of weeks.

Karen, thank you so much for your comment on Shane. I know you will be praying and I appreciate that so much.

Much love,

Betsy
