Well I made it through my first week back to work. I'm exhausted though. It's tiring getting up at 5:15 am and not having a nap!! I had an interview on Thursday for a new position that opened up in our department--keep your fingers crossed for me. More responsibility and more money......
Congratulations to my sister, she was downsized and just found a new position. Thankfully she found one pretty quick and didn't have to take too much of a cut in pay.
Yesterday we all went to another RV show. Lots to look at, the only down side was it was pouring rain. Some were inside the mall but others were outside so we got wet!! We've complained about the dinette table in ours since we got it. It wobbles not no matter what we do to stop it. I keep saying we should have kept the table out of the pop up--that was the best table so far as stability goes. It had legs on it like an ironing board, but it didn't wobble when someone leaned on it or was trying to cut their dinner up. I found another table I really like--it's in the Rockwood campers--we did all kinds of things to it and it stayed stable. Gotta find me one or at least the legs to one so I can fix mine. It's little things like that you look for and try to improve on. Quite a few we looked at had nice layouts till you looked at the bathrooms, I can't manage some of the tubs with the toilets so close--hard on my knee to get into them. Would prefer just a shower in that case. Also don't like the sofas that are futon style beds, want a sleeper sofa. The kids come once in a while and so do the neighbors but will not buy bunks cause I don't need them most of the time and they take up good space I could use. I'm down to 2 models, (if I was to trade) another Keystone Hornet but it has a rear kitchen and front bedroom, just slightly longer than our present one or a Sunset Trail with front bedroom and rear living. The Sunset Trail has more storage space outside than the Hornets do and are lighter weight. But by the time I'm ready to trade again I may actually go for a small 5th wheel as it will probably be close to the time the house and truck are paid off and I can work per diem and we can travel for the winter to someplace warmer. I did see a neat 5th wheel with a layout I've never seen before. Had 4 bunks with closets up front, and a master bedroom at the rear. That would be great with kids. There was another great layout in a trailer with bunks--had 2 upper bunks in the back, below one was a sofa and below the other was a small dinette--both of which could be converted to sleeping space if needed. There was a 1/2 bath there too (toilet and sink)with a door from the bunk room and one from the kitchen area. Up front was a master bedroom with the full bath. Great space and layout if you had kids.
After looking at campers we all stopped for a bite to eat since we hadn't had lunch and had tickets for Jeff Dunham that evening. Jim and I had seen Jeff Dunham last fall in Albany but the other 2 couples hadn't seen him live yet. What a great time we had. I just love Walter the old geezer. By the time we got home last night I was so tired. Slept great.
Today was grocery shopping while Jim does laundry and now I'm baking. Monkey bread for breakfast treats this week and brownies. I made a small batch earlier this week and Jim shared them with Jenna, Nick, Pat and Terri. Pat almost didn't get any since the kids thought they were the best they ever had. Nick and Jenna brought the plate back saying mom wanted the recipe. It was box mix but it was the frosting that made them great. I used the Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa frosting recipe. It kinda soaked into the brownies cause they were still a little warm and it's so fudgy tasting.....YUMMMMY.
Talked to Kristine and Rob and Shannon today. I miss them so much. Shannon is gonna be Sleeping Beauty for Halloween. They are thinking about being here for Christmas....I hope so, it would be so much fun. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Have a great week everyone.
