We spent Memorial Day weekend with veterans. Jim had a few years in the Army, Pat was in the Navy, Warren is retired Navy and of course my son. My yellow ribbon was hanging from the camper all weekend as it always does when we camp.

What a weekend. We did go camping, but what a mess it started out as. We found out Monday that everyone but us had been moved and no one was together anymore. Then Warren and family got there first on Friday, his new site was too small for his camper so they moved him close to us, that left Teri and and Pat on the other side of the park as the other families had cancelled and got their money back (after arguing with them), so Teri and I get there and Teri's arguing with them and Jim joins in, the manager states he personally called everyone back in February shortly after we made these reservations and told them they were moved, well that was a LIE and we told him so as did another woman in line waiting to check in that wasn't with us. So after much going back and forth they moved Pat and Teri closer to all of us. But none of the families involved will ever go back again. The management at Coldbrook Campground in Gansevoort, NY stinks!!!! They are owned by Morgan RV Resorts and we have stayed at other Morgan owned campgrounds and never had problems like this. Friday night we are all sitting by the campfire, it's about 10 pm (maybe a little later) and can hear people behind us screaming "Slow down" so we look and here comes this car, weaving and heading for us and doing about 40mph, in a 10mph zone(we are on a corner site), Pat stands up and his chair " just flew out and hit the car", well took the guy a minute to react and stop but her did and got out of his car and came over, thought we were gonna have a fight, but Jim and Warren stood up and waited to see what was gonna happen and I turned around and there were all the people from down the road that had been yelling coming up (about 30 of them). The campground staff gets there in their golfcarts (they hadn't been able to catch up to him) and they escort him off the property. No fight, he was drunk but not drunk enough to realize he was against about 20 men. Coleman camping chairs hold up well, a little scuff from his car but no real damage. I will say it slowed people down all weekend and we were the talk of the place. He could have badly injured a child if it had happened even an hour earlier when there was all kinds of kids playing and riding bikes. We had a great weekend despite all that started off bad. Kristine, Rob, and Shannon came Sunday evening and spent the night. We now have Shannon for the week. She loves camping and the new Pooh sheets we got for her bed. Forgot my camera so no pictures from the weekend.
Have a great week everyone.

Oh, Karen. Praise the Lord everyone was okay. Every time we go camping there are kids running around, even at 10:00 p.m. For the kids it's like a vacation and they don't have their normal bedtime.

I am so glad everyone was fine. I guess just when you thought things couldn't get worse, they did!

We haven't been camping in two weeks and I am missing it so much!

Karen.
There's one at every campground, isn't there? Seems that way.
So glad that you ended up fairly close together and that you caught the office staff telling untruths. Geesh, can't they just admit and apologize for the mistake they made?
I'm so glad that you have Shannon. What a sweetie pie she must be now.
Hugs and love to you and Jim - I'm glad no one got hurt.
Blessings...
