It's gonna be a WHITE Christmas here....it's done nothing but snow since Friday. Coming home from work on Friday afternoon was treacherous, what is normally a 5 minute, 10 if lots of traffic took me 30 minutes to get home. By 7:20 Saturday morning we had 10 1/2 inches of snow. It was supposed to stop on Saturday but it didn't and it's still snowing. I got a haircut yesterday morning and did my grocery shopping and have been in ever since. At least I've been productive. Have the candies made again, will dip them tonight. Also have 3 batches of fudge made. 2 are like blond brownies and one is peanut butter fudge. Tomorrow I'll do cookies. Have to do a coffee cake tonight also. I talked to the kids today--they are coming on Friday. We can hardly wait.
I went to another cooking class on Wednesday night (we had snow that day too). This one was chocolate....we did chocolate covered strawberries, truffles, and pecan fudge squares. YUMMY. Gail across the street went with me. It was fun. We brought home some of everything.
I'm officially on vacation now. On Friday though I started packing up my desk at work. Starting January 2nd I will be moved to another part of the department and my hours have changed. I will work 7am-3pm in Short Term Care which is our outpatient infusion center. The other girls don't really care to be there and they need someone there during the hours they are open, what we've been doing is rotating through there but keeping our normal work hours, so someone may be there 7:30am or 9 am and they open at 7am. We'll see how this goes. I don't mind it down there except for the drama though from some of their staff, I try to stay out of it.
I talked to my friend today from downstate...she's stopping tomorrow on her way to the inlaws with a present for Shannon, we are giving her a cradle with a baby doll. I took an old cradle sheet of Rob's and cut it up and made a mattress for the cradle (it's Care Bears) and Mary made a blanket for it that is also Care Bears and a matching one for Shannon to have.
My friend Sue got a nice early Christmas present--her son in law is home on R&R from Iraq and surprised her the other day...her daughter will be home soon and they will have a great Christmas together. My friend Julie P. will have her son home from the service also.
Have to go get dinner started for when Jim gets home from snow blowing his mom out. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE.
My prayers are with all of you near and far.

Karen,
I don't know how you find the time to do HALF of what you do! But having a snow storm surely does help. We are pretty much in the same boat you are with the snow. Kasey hasn't played outside yet because it's so cold but I sense a snowball contest with mom and dad coming up really soon.
Thanks for the mention about Stephen - glad that your kids are coming in soon also. It just makes the whole holiday.
Love to you and Jim for a wonderful Christmas. STAY WARM!
Sue
