It's a week into 2008 and though I had good intentions they have already gone by the wayside. Work is BUSY and so when I get home I just want to fade away and not do anything, so the blog has been neglected, my military moms have been neglected, and others.
After more years than I care to count, our bedroom is finished (well almost, need some paint on the windows but can't do that till spring) and I have to say it's a GREAT feeling being able to dress in the same room -- my closet and dressers are in the same room!!!
I miss the baby--though she isn't a baby anymore, she's a toddler now. At 16 months she's all over the place. It was so much fun having her here. Shannon is so much like her daddy, but has her mommy's disposition.
A year of change.....this is the year of the major birthdays in my family. Quite a few of us are born 10 years apart.....so we hit 40, 50, and 60 this year....dad would have been 70 yesterday. My baby brother does the 40 thing next Sunday. WOW Slim is 40---I can remember him going off to kindergarten, I was in high school at the time.
Have to go to work, guess I'll finish this later,
As always, my thoughts and prayers are with our military and their families.

hi Karen,
I am soooo far behind on visiting my friends here in blogger land. I sure hope that things are good there for you and Jim. There always is a let down after the babies leave and we start counting the days (or months) :( til we see them again. I don't know Karen - this grandma thing is sure a lot easier when they are ALL here.
So, I KNOW that you aren't gonna be 60 so this would be the 50 year for you, huh? It's painless - mind over matter. The 60 is also mind over matter but you have to work the mind a little harder. :)
About your dad...I know you miss him a lot. Mine has been gone 9 years and it still seems a lot lonelier in this world without him.
Be blessed my friend - you and Jim both. And remember that you are loved.
Love and hugs,
Sue
