WHY????

WHY do people beat on small defenseless children? I hate every time I hear this story....tonight on our local news, a 23 yr. young man admitted he hit, choked, and bit a 7 1/2 month old baby that was in his care for 2 days, the baby wasn't even his. I still don't know where mom was while all this was going on but according to the news he admitted he did all these things for 2 days before taking the unconscious baby to the ER at our local hospital. The baby has been transferred to the Medical Center about 50 miles away and is on a ventilator and not expected to live. He finally stopped and took the baby to the ER, he say, after he really looked at the baby and started to cry at the damage he had already inflicted.
In our community, as in most, we have numerous resources, why do these things happen? Take the baby someplace if you can't handle caring for it, call someone to help you, do something besides beat them...... I'm just sick that this poor child doesn't have a chance at life because of what this young man has done. They are promising to upgrade his numerous charges to murder if the baby dies, I want someone to do to him as he did to that baby. In cases like this, I believe in the old adage "An eye for an eye".

On another note, I haven't been writing lately not because I don't have anything to say but I irritated a tendon in my shoulder and couldn't move my right arm very much. Hard to do your job when you type all day. I've had it in a sling and it's better, but I have another week to type one handed with my arm in a sling at work. My choice was 2 weeks out of work or wear a sling at work and use only my left hand. Doc said I could type at home as long as I limited it to less than an hour a night.

The holidays are coming soon, Thanksgiving dinner....yummmmm.....I want all of you reading this to remember our service men and women who can't be home for the holidays. Please set a place at your table for that service member, it will remain empty but remind all who dine with you of the sacrifices that service members and their families have.

As always my prayers are with our service members each and every day.

Hi Karen,
It's beyond comprehension that anyone could do that to a child. Babies and toddlers are so defenseless & they trust everyone.
Praying for this poor little tyke.
Thanksgiving will be different for us this year. Scott and Veronica will be at our table instead of us all being together at Scott and Tina's house. It will be fine - and we will make it a memorable day. Hope your Thanksgiving is blessed, Karen.
You are such a blessing to me.
Hugs,
Sue
