Too much to do so little time....I miss my mom more at Christmas, she was always baking, singing carols, it was her favorite holiday. She baked many dozens of cookies, always had great gifts--thoughtful ones. I'm baking for the doctors this year, mini bread loaves, maybe some doughnuts, not doing candy for the first time in years. The docs give us a catered luncheon every year to celebrate the holidays, we also get a gift, this year was an insulated lunch bag with the Cancer Center logo on it. Yesterday was our staff Christmas party, catered at Mary Lou's home, we all brought cookies to swap for dessert. They did a grab bag swap gift exchange this year so from the managers I got a great soft fuzzy throw I'm going to put in the camper. We also do Secret Santas and I got 2wine glasses, 2 bottles of wine, a bottle of champagne. Had a great time. Monday night is Linda's retirement party after work. Busy, busy, busy.
I think it's my age, but also having the kids not so near, I'm missing that Christmas cheer, I want the huge family Christmas of my childhood. For Thanksgiving this year we went across the street to Pat and Gail's as their son went to the in laws, it was a great dinner and great time but again, missing family.
Enough whining, back to baking.
