Took Shannon back yesterday, Kristine met us part way. Today is a very lazy day, never got out of my jammies. She has officially tired us out, but what a great week. We needed those giggles of hers. Friday night we had our first sleepover with Jenna from across the street here. Now you have to know that Shannon has slept at least 11 hours every night but Friday it was almost midnight when they quieted down and they were up at 7:30 a.m. Papa was up and they got me up at 8 a.m. and wanted donuts so on 1/2 cup of coffee I was making donuts. We had apple-Cinnamon and blueberry, some glazed, some plain, some glazed and with sprinkles. We had chocolate ones earlier in the week. Even Sammy has done nothing but rest today!
The Boston bombings, thankfully my son was not in the city that day--he does live in the next town over from Cambridge--we drive through there to get to his home. Very scary but at least I was able to quickly make sure he was ok through all that. My prayers are with all the victims and their families. So senseless....... KUDOS to all the police agencies for a quick resolve to this.
Back to work tomorrow, already looking forward to my next vacation, which isn't till July. We are going camping though the week before Memorial Day weekend for 2 weeks. Can't wait for that first trip out for the season. We are so ready to sit by a campfire and relax. Been buying a few things -- a mini fridge for outside. We never have enough fridge space and what we spent on ice for the cooler last summer we could have had a fridge so got one for Jim for Christmas. Gail and I found some cute magarita glasses for us and scotch glasses for the guys. They are acrylic so they won't break as easy. Have a few other things we picked up, some collapsible bns for the cupboards to keep thing more organized. Gail and I have been taking pics of the ingredients in the fancy drinks we've been testing on our Friday night date nights out to dinner. So we lots of things to choose from this summer to drink. We usually only have 1 a night unless it's a day off the next day and then we might have 2 or 3.
Friday night date night......we started this almost 2 years ago. Pat and Gail, Jim and I go out to dinner almost every Friday night. We were trying all kinds of places -- some old favorites more often but we would throw a new place in frequently. Pat has now been diagnosed with Celiac disease and has to have gluten free now. That has limited our choices for places to go. It also has found us a couple new favorites.
HUGS to all
