9-11

What a day..........my friend Julie would have 54 today.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY in Heaven.  Tessie (her daughter) and Josh are celebrating their wedding anniversary today.

As Alan Jackson sings, Where were you when the world stopped turning?  I was at work, we were having a party for Julie's birthday.  We first heard it on the radio--my son was in basic training, almost finished, I was scared.....what would happen with him, so many thoughts ran through my head.  I left work early, our boss sent those of us with children in the military home--we were pretty worthless anyways.  I don't think I have ever been so glued to the TV for so many days in a row.  We finally heard from Rob about 4 days later--they were never told what was going on, they were all hearing it as they called home.  He was one of the first to go to Iraq, his unit went in with the Special Forces team to Baghdad, good thing I didn't know it at the time.  I was already a basket case thinking he was going in from Kuwait and would be in the south of Iraq--didn't need to know he was in the first of the troops to hit Baghdad that infamous day in March.
Julie helped hold me together while all this was going on--we worked side by side, laughing, crying, sending care packages.  I had a lot of support from my military mom friends but most of them were not right here so when I needed a HUG, Julie was here.
My prayers are with all who lost someone that day, with all our military, with the men and women who respond to disasters like 9-11.  Please take a moment and say a prayer today for all of America.

I would like a prayer for my family today. My mother in law fell yesterday and was transferred from here to a Medical Center. She shattered her elbow, Thank you Lord, it wasn't a hip, but our orthopedic doctors would not touch her. She is having surgery today and is not really a great candidate for it but has to be done. My sister in law and niece are on their way from Florida--been driving since last evening. Jim and John are at the hospital today, I will go tomorrow--have to get some groceries in the house since we were supposed to be camping and I didn't shop for the house.
