It's been a year today since I said goodbye to my friend Julie. She battled breast cancer and survived only to have to battle ovarian cancer. What a fighter she was. Today I went to the cemetery, someplace I haven't been since the day we laid her to rest. So peaceful and a dragonfly came to visit while I was there--it was her, she loved dragonflies. Every time I see one, I know she is with me.
It's been tough at times, I wanted to share my first grand baby with her, since she shared hers with me. I pick up the phone to call her, click on her email to send her a new joke, those little things we take for granted until we can't do them anymore.
I made her a promise to get her grandson a Christmas ornament every year, I even remembered to get her daughter T. a gift on Mother's Day. Boy was that hard. Ryan is growing so fast, she loved him so much and what a cute little boy he is.
