Jim and I would like to wish all our friends and family a Happy Thanksgiving.
I've been a little neglectful of my blog lately. I'm sorry, just been busy at work and trying to get things caught up here in the house. Now it's time to decorate for Christmas and almost done shopping--good thing since I'm almost out of money...LOL
It's gonna be quiet here tomorrow, the kids can't make it, they having a houseful of friends and Kristine's mom. We are only having Jim's mom and brother. I'm not sure I can cook for 4 people....in fact I know I can't, should have gone and bought another turkey, had one of the freezer--it's almost 23 pounds, we are going to be eating turkey for awhile. Did go out tonight and buy a new pan, mine was too small. In the evening we've been invited across the street for dessert and cocktails. All the people we camp with will be there. That will be fun.
The department where I actually work has adopted a family, actually we are sharing one with another small unit, but they gave us a small family--1 infant and the parents--gonna be a great Christmas for them--I did suggest some of us buy bigger clothes for the baby so she has something to grow into. The hospital has many families to adopt and each department is encouraged to adopt one. My real department also always adopts one except for the year Rob was in Iraq--we adopted his platoon.
Christmas parties are coming up, Jim's is the 19th, I love that they invite the retirees also, gives them a chance to catch up with each other. My department is having one on the 12th at one of the girls home. We will each contribute to the meal and so far, it'll be great eats--prime rib, chicken parm, seafood alfredo, lots of appetizers and desserts.....The first Sunday in December us girls are planning an all day trip to the Christmas Tree Shop with lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. FUN....calling it our First Annual Christmas Tree Shopping Trip.
If you are travelling this holiday weekend, be safe. Have a great day with family and friends and know I'm thinking of you and adding you to my prayers if you are missing someone at your table this year. May all our servicemen and women be safe and home soon.
